Working Border Collies for Reliable Ranch or Trial Use
that's the Hill Shepherd Farm and Kennel motto, and it is the standard to which we expect our stockdogs to perform. We maintain a small kennel to help us in our daily herding farm chores at our farm in Stephenville, Texas.
Though our busy farm and work schedules keep us from competing at field trials nowadays, we both extensively competed, judged and gave lessons in years past. Sara at one point was the youngest handler to run at the USBCHA national finals and Vernon was reserve champion at the NSDS finals in 1995. So deep do stockdogs run in our lives that we actually first met at a sheepdog trial - and the rest as they say is history!
Now Available: ABCA Zap by Imp. Hope and Imp. Spot. Zappie is a friendly 2 year old (born 10/1/07) male who is laid back, loyal and charming. Good with other dogs and easy to get along with. Zap does not show as much drive as we need for goats and would do best in a companion or companion/light sheep work setting. He has basic commands for a short outrun, will wear sheep to you and calls off easily. He is the kind of dog that lives to be by your side-spend the day fixing fence and he won't be more than 10 feet away all day. $600
