Our buck kids are stringently evaluated over their first year to see who deserves to go on to be a herd sire. This buck looks good now, but will he be as stunning as a yearling? Only time will tell and this is why we keep our bucks until they become yearlings - as kids it is a crap shoot but when they reach yearling stage their traits will generally remain more consistent, making this an ideal time to make breeding selections.
