 Located in Ohio, Hill Shepherd is home to our kennel of Working Border Collies and our flocks of registered white and colored Angora Goats. During the day, Vernon is a ruminant nutritionist and ration balancing software programmer and along with Sara runs a marketing services company that specializes in graphic design, advertising, web development and public relations. In the evenings we are shepherds, craftsmen, trainers and above all, best friends. Thank you for visiting and please stop by again!
We have just returned from our only show of the year, the CAGBA National Show hosted in Rhinebeck, NY. There were a marvelous array of beautiful goats there and we feel honored that Judge Mac Gilliant chose Hill Shepherd 5070 (photo) and Hill Shepherd 5037 (photo) as Grand Champion Doe and Grand Champion Buck respectively. Hill Shepherd 5068 was chosen as Reserve Champion White Doe. Getting fresh input just before breeding season is a fabulous luxury - we've done final tweaks to our breeding plan on the truck ride back from the show and breeding groups are now together - can't wait to see what we get in the spring.
